Army planning to test new A.I in an mmorpg
Yes, apparently the army has plans for a new device in war. Advance A.I constructs. They're essentially trying to create virtual humans that can pass for a real human, online. To test the humanity of the A.I, they also plan to test it in top mmorpgs like World of Warcraft or Eve Online. The A.I should be able to actively response and use "local" slang.
To test out the computer generated humans’ “humanity,” Parmentola and his researchers want to unleash some of their cyber Soldiers into so-called “massively multi-player online games” such as “World of Warcraft” or “Eve Online” - games frequented by thousands of super-competitive human players in teams of virtual characters fighting battles that can last for days.
This seems pretty cool, hah. I wonder if they are going to announce if/when they release the A.I into these games, I would like to see how well made they are.
