Prince of Persia - Kotaku Impressions
Prince of Persia, Ahh, the new Prince of Persia game looks, well, different to say the least. The last games I played being Prince of Persia the two thrones and Prince of Persia warrior within, I am going to have to say I'll miss the power over time. This Prince of Persia game has a completely different style and apparently is going for a different form of gameplay. It looks a bit more cinematic and more combo oriented then before, which I'm all for. This game almost reminds me of Ico for some reason. Kotaku has recently made an article on their impressions of this game. I'm glad to hear how fluent they say the animation is, as I'm a very big fan of great animation. My main reason for loving Grand Theft Auto 4.
Prince of Persia has changed quite a lot, and it's probably for the better. According to this article, the scenery is much better and made so it would look more like an animated movie. The addition of the gauntlet looks like a pretty useful feature too, might make the fighting more engaging than before. The biggest difference is supposedly found within the fighting mechanics. The Last two Prince of Persia games were focused on chaining combos, and fighting multiple enemies at once. This game completely changes it and is now focused on One on One fighting. I was a bit curious to see how that would work, but after seeing a couple of videos, it doesn't look to be that bad. I'm disappointed in hearing that the Prince of Persia team "gimped" Elikia's AI. They seemed disappointed with how it reacted. This new Prince of Persia also seems a bit too easy, or at least sounds that way.
All die-hard Prince of Persia fans will, of course, be looking forward to this new Prince of Persia. The article can be found here.
