Mirrors Edge Demo Impressions

The demo was just put on Xbox Live today as a demo download. It starts off with a tutorial teaching you the basics of combat, running and all of the other things that you will be doing. The visuals and the setting are simply astounding. The graphics are pretty great. The animation is pretty well done, it's believable. I was having fun doing all the free running, following the guide. After running, and following your guide, you come to a stop and she gives you the basics of Hand to Hand combat. After that, the disarming techniques, then a nifty little "reflex mode" feature, where you see in slowmotion. This mode can be achieved by doing a lot of running.
Yes, it's nothing new, but the action in the game was fairly fun. I had fun linking my combo's off of walls while running. It made the action feel more epic. I would run on the wall, dodging bullets, then hop off and drop kick the enemy. That was pretty intense, hah. I'm definitely going to try and get this day one. This is a solid purchase, if you haven't played the demo, do so! The video at the end, after you beat the demo, is also pleasing. The visuals and lighting in the subway level with the mystifying music is just great. Can't wait for this one.
